It's so weird to me that my baby isn't much of a baby anymore. I mean really. Where has the time gone? I now have this cute little guy that can walk and is constantly exploring and learning new things. It's pretty great. He's much fun to hang out with him now days and honestly cracks me up all the time. There's hardly ever a dull moment because he is such a cheese. Life is good my friends. Life is good.
Well, I wanted to document some of the things that Thomas can do and say now so here it goes...
- He just officially started walking on Friday of last week (October 1st). He had been taking steps and walking across our house from Matt to me and back again for a couple weeks, but he really started walking last week and he's gotten better and better from there. Now he can walk all the way to the park by himself (although I of course hold his hand when we cross the street :) ).
- He knows a bunch of words now, too including: mama, dada, ball, up, eat (he usually walks over to his high chair and says "eat" when he's hungry), out, dog (do), duck, uh oh, keys (gee), Kortney (also Gee), no, yeah, banana (nana), apple (a-ul), cheese (for both the food and when he looks in my phone to take a picture), hi (which he honestly probably says like a hundred times a day), leaf, chalk, bubbles, that, chalk, baby, light, bye bye, lion (yi yon), water (yeah yeah? I know... weird), and "wee" which he says for the park which isn't exactly a word, but it's pretty cute. I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but you get the gist. Pretty fun.
- He also knows animal sounds for a dog, a monkey, a cow, a lion, a leopard, a snake (sometimes), a owl (that one was new today), and a Thomas (a Thomas says "hi" by the way haha).
- Thomas loves to play hide and seek with Matt and I and say "boo" when he finds us. He also says "boo" whenever he peeks around a corner which is pretty cute too if I do say so myself.
- He LOVES to be outside. It makes me a little nervous for the winter, but right now it's great. We've been exploring Provo by bike recently and it's been a lot of fun. It's been an awesome way to be cheap, explore, and get some exercise.
- His favorite books as of right now are "Llama Llama Zippity-Zoom", "Hands Hands Fingers Thumb", and his book of 100 words. He hasn't sat still to read books for a long time, but those ones have been golden over the past week or so.
I really love having a toddler. Yeah he's super busy, church is rough, and I'm often exhausted by the end of the day, but I really am loving this stage. I love seeing his face when he's proud of himself for figuring out how to do something new. I love teaching him new things. I love making him laugh. I love when he makes me laugh. I love seeing his relationship with Matt. I guess to put it simple... I love being a mom. Yeah, it's hard sometimes (a lot of the time), but I'm so grateful I get to hang out with such a fun little guy. I am so blessed.
