The little man just turned eleven months yesterday and man is he all over the place! He is so busy and is constantly exploring everything. This stage has been really fun, but recently it has also been getting harder for me to keep my house clean or get anything done during the day. The cute little monster loves to be by me and is usually following me around the apartment or pulling himself up with my legs so that I'll hold him. He loves to see everything that's going on and sometimes he's a little nosey in a sense, but we love it. He really just wants to experience everything for himself. He is such a fun little explorer.
Unfortunately he has also chosen to wake up at 6:30 in the morning now! I was hoping I'd never have to be one of the moms who gets up really early every morning with her early risers, but less than one year into parenting and he's got me roped in. This really shouldn't be a problem, but I love my sleep. Well that and sometimes Matt and I love staying up late at night. We just need to make the transition and things will be great. After all, a lot of kids wake up early and 6:30 really isn't too bad. Maybe I should count this as a blessing. I mean, he does sleep through the night and he usually does a decent job with his naps during the day. Ok... I change my mind. I'll try to look at this early morning thing as a good thing. He's a pretty cool little guy. I don't mind hanging out with him in the morning :)... especially when I get my exercising in.
Thomas is crawling and furniture walking all over the place now, but he doesn't seem to have a big interest in standing or walking yet. We just bought him a cute lion walker from Target and he'll take a couple steps with it, but then he'll sit down and just play with the fun toys on the front (and to think I almost got the one with more fun toys on the front haha). He's also a master at crawling, but his favorite thing is to hold a toy (or a pinecone for that matter) in each of his hands while he does an odd crawl. It's pretty entertaining.
He still hasn't said any words yet, but recently he's been mimicing us more and more. His newest thing is copying Matt's animals sounds like Matt's elephant noise and growling. It's really cute to see Thomas walk around blowing as he tries to make the elephant sound. Hopefully he'll be able to do it someday because I seriously fail when it comes to making cool noises.
Anyway, we love Thomas. He is the best. He is all boy and loves balls, dirt, water, and getting messy. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Happy 11 months, little man! We love you!
Here are some splash pad pictures from a couple weeks ago...
And here is his... I'm wet and cold but I loved that face.
